Jewellery Trends 2022: What's hot now

Fashion has new trends in store for us every year, and the world of accessories is also subject to constant change. While big, flashy jewellery and pearls were the main trends in 2021, 2022 has something new in store for us. 2022 will be colourful, artistic and above all - a lot.
We present the most important jewellery trends of 2022 and give you tips on how you can easily style them.

Colourful jewellery puts you in a good mood

Jewellery is fun - and it is showing this in particular this year. Colourful stones, whether glittering or not, adorn jewellery of all kinds in 2022. Especially after many months at home and sometimes hard times, colourful jewellery brings new joy and good humour into our lives. Whether a colourful pendant on a necklace, rings adorned with colourful zirconia stones or finely processed semi-precious stones in combination with pearls - this jewellery trend has it all.

Colourful stones

Zirconia stones have been used in jewellery making for a long time, mostly in a transparent variety that looks confusingly like real diamonds. They are characterised by their strong sparkle. Zirconia stones also create a great effect in bright colours. Especially when arranged in rainbow colours, they automatically create a good mood. Pastel shades or strong colours bring variety to your look, whether on your ear, around your neck or on your fingers.

Gemstones or semi-precious stones can also add colour to jewellery. Visually, the main difference to zirconia stones is that semi-precious stones do not usually sparkle and glitter. In combination with pearls or as part of beautiful necklace pendants, colourful semi-precious stones are very trendy.

Candy Rings

Candy rings are rings made of materials such as glass, plastic or enamel. So they don't have the classic metallic look, but often resemble chewy sweets in their appearance - hence their name. Candy rings are usually brightly coloured, and pastel shades are particularly popular. They are usually rather wide, but large stones can also adorn candy rings. Candy rings are definitely not inconspicuous. If you want to spread even more good humour, wear several candy rings at the same time. The playful and at the same time stylish look gives the whole outfit that certain something. Combined with pearl necklaces or thick chains, you can create a real statement look.

Many charms & pendants are available in

The combination of many charms and pendants brings new momentum into your jewellery game. Simple necklaces can easily be spiced up with charms and become real eye-catchers. Several charms on one chain make you look twice. If you want, you can add a personal touch: the first letters of your best friends or family are great to hang on a piece of jewellery in the form of charms.

If you want to go even further, you can combine several necklaces with pendants. The more there is to discover, the better. This new form of neckwear, where many different necklaces with different structures and designs are worn together, is very trendy in 2022. Colourful charms and pendants are also great to integrate into such a look.

Curated Ears: more earcandy doesn't get any better than this

Curated ears is the term used to describe the trend of adorning one's ears with earrings, ear cuffs and piercings all over. If you have several pierced ears and possibly piercings, you can easily follow the curated ears trend. Different types of earrings can be combined with each other. Creoles, stud earrings, dangling earrings and chain earrings are great complemented by ear cuffs (often stacked). More advanced wearers can complete the look with helix, tragus or conch piercings to create a great work of art on the ear. Glitter is also allowed, especially in bright colours.

Artful Jewellery & Abstract Designs

From opulent to minimalist, futuristic to mystical, rocking to soft, it's all here in 2022. Inspired by different eras, styles and beliefs, jewellery this year has artful and abstract designs that catch everyone's eye. In addition to futuristic shapes and thick industrial-style chains, you'll find organic, soft forms as well as opulent jewellery with large stones and elaborate embellishments.

Still on trend: jewellery inspired by celestial bodies, mysticism and spirituality. Sun-shaped pendants, glittering stars and naturally shimmering semi-precious stones are super hip. If you like it a bit rockier, you'll definitely find jewellery reminiscent of emo style in 2022. Black details, coarser chains, playful motifs in the form of charms - all these combine elements that we know from the 2000s.

Abstract designs that look futuristic and artistic are found especially in earrings. Earcuffs and earrings that encompass the entire ear and thus create a completely new look are totally on trend.

Signet Rings & Bold Rings

Bold rings were already very trendy in 2021. They are definitely still in in 2022. Especially in combination or stacking, bold rings can create a statement look and give the wearer more self-confidence. A special jewellery trend in 2022: signet rings. Whether embossed, engraved or completely smooth - signet rings are characterised by a flattened surface on the top of the ring. They are usually rather rough and thus also belong to the category of bold rings. The "seal" itself can be round, oval or square, and materials such as enamel can also be used here. If you add an individual engraving to your signet ring, you add a personal touch to your look and make your piece of jewellery something very special.
